hListing

While I was looking for designs and thoughts for the new design I’m working on for work and I ran into the hListing proposal from Microformats.org and thought it would be handy for parsing the generated code and possibly for the organization of class and id names to a more standard way and it should help keep the CSS cleaner. Only problem is that it isn’t a standard so from one place to another could be using completely different names, but hopefully they’ll come up with similar names.

I also found Edgeio which is a web site that can read web sites that have set up the hListing and will grab the data off your site every so often to show on their listings for what is on sale. Only thing that I found about their site is that it’s hard to find what you are looking for at least it is right now for me. But the good thing is that each item can be tagged with multiple categories to help narrow down what you are looking for if it is tagged properly.
